Master was alive, his service was the pivot on which the Mother's life revolved. After his passing, there was no anchor to hold the ship of her spirit to the sea-shore of our earthly dimension. With the anchor cut off, it would have drifted into the high seas of Brahmic Consciousness and be lost for the world. But the Great Master's mission had to be fulfilled. She was one of the major instruments for its fulfilment. Her body and mind had therefore to be preserved and held at the level of earth consciousness. An attachment of a purely worldly type was required for it, and the great Providence that designed the grand plan of the Master's life and mission achieved this by tying her with the secure chain of affection and attachment for Radhu and her like, until she had played her part and was free to shuffle off the mortal coil.
   She was now fast sinking. When all medical treatment had failed, occult remedies were tried but to no purpose. Gradually, owing to anaemia, the legs began to swell. She could not even get up from the bed. Five days before her passing away, a lady devotee known as 'mother of Annapurna' came to see her. As no one was then allowed to enter the Holy Mother's room, she sat at the doorway. The Mother caught sight of her and beckoned to her to come near. She bowed down and sobbed out, 'Mother, what will happen to us hereafter?' The Mother consoled her in a low, almost inaudible voice, 'Why do you fear? You have seen the Master.' After a pause she added, 'But I tell you one thing - if you want peace of mind, do not find fault with others. Rather see your own faults. Learn to make the whole world your
